About Us
Something Fishy is a full-service aquatic design and installation firm based in Rhode Island. We create timeless aquatic environments that bring movement, serenity, and prestige to homes, healthcare spaces, commercial interiors, and public institutions. Our designs are seamlessly integrated—tailored to elevate the experience of any space.
Led by a passionate team of visionaries, designers, and technicians, Something Fishy is a Rhode Island-based aquarium design studio specializing in immersive aquatic experiences. With over two decades of expertise, we create living installations that sit at the intersection of art and environment — transforming spaces with serenity, movement, and meaning.
What began in 1993 with a teenager cleaning his dentist’s fish tank has grown into one of New England’s most trusted names in aquatic design. Founded by Kurt “The Fish Guy” Harrington, the company has expanded from a humble side hustle into a multi-disciplinary creative house — from retail storefronts to managing 1.2 million gallons of aquatic life at Mystic Aquarium. Today, we continue to bring elegance and emotion to every project, rooted in the same values that started it all: passion, craftsmanship, and care.
Our mission is to Transform Spaces, Captivate Minds, and Inspire Wonder.
